Recipe for Quinoa BurgersReturn to Recipe List
3 cups of (filtered) water or soup broth
1 cup raw quinoa
1/2 cup brown rice flour
1 large onion
3/4 cup shredded raw butternut squash or 3/4 cup mashed cooked butternut squash
1 small to medium size parsnip, finely shredded
2 celery stalks grated
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsely
1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
4 cloves of fresh minced garlic
1 tsp. grated fresh ginger root (optional but great in it)
a pinch of cayenne
1 large egg
Sea Salt to taste
1 tsp. Braggs Amino Acids
dark olive oil as needed, for frying
1 small bunch flat parsley,
1/4 tsp fresh cilantro
5 cloves fresh garlic
Seasalt as needed
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 tsp. of fresh grated ginger
1 tsp. apple juice
1/4 cup of tahina, or almond butter
2 1/2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
Grate the onion and set it aside.
Cook the quinoa as per directions
Heat up the oil in a large frying pan, approx 1/3 inch high.
Put the quinoa in a mixing bowl, leaving room to mix it.
Add all of the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Form the burgers with this mixture, and and put them in the pan with the hot oil.
Fry about 2 minutes each side, or till golden-brown.
Drain this on paper towels.
You can serve this hot with sauce either on it, or on the side
Process in blender with all the sauce ingredients.
Blend until it is smooth
delicious with a raw salad on the side
