Greene Hill Food Coop Needs Your Volunteer Labor and Support

December 9, 2021

Dear PSFC Members,

I am writing to you today to ask you to consider helping our sister coop, the 10-year-old Greene Hill Food Co-op. Greene Hill, located on Fulton Street, steps from Classon Avenue, is in dire need of member labor over the holidays so that they can keep the doors open. Like the PSFC, Greene Hill requires members to do work slots. While they are working on a concerted membership drive and outreach in their community, they need an infusion of labor. Without such an infusion they will have to shutter the Co-op many hours per week (perhaps closing altogether) thereby further worsening their difficult financial situation and making it harder to attract new members. Please consider volunteering at Greene Hill and being one of the people that makes a difference in keeping alive this important community cooperative. In order to volunteer please email shifts@greenehillfood.coop. At this time the PSFC cannot offer workslot credit at the PSFC for volunteers at Greene Hill. For more info about Greene Hill go to: https://www.greenehillfood.coop/

In addition to volunteer labor, Greene Hill is in need of donations to help hire a new store manager, who will focus on managing their inventory and improving their operations. Please consider donating at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ev3hx-store-improvements

The PSFC and Greene Hill have been partnering in living the principle of Cooperation Among Cooperatives for more than a dozen years. Please consider helping in any way or ways that you can. Also, the Greene Hill Food Co-op continues to welcome every member of the Park Slope Food Coop to shop there which has been the practice for years.
