P6: Cooperation Among Cooperatives
Cooperatives serve their members most effectively and strengthen the cooperative movement by working together through local, national, regional, and international structures.
Principle 6 of the International Principles of Cooperation is a practical expression of the cooperative value of solidarity. It is what differentiates cooperatives from other types of business structures and enterprises. In joining a cooperative, members are not only helping to build their own cooperative but the wider cooperative movement.
In support of Principle 6, the Coop wants to highlight other cooperatives (consumer, worker, financial, or producer) in Brooklyn and the New York metropolitan area. We urge you to consider joining or doing business with cooperatives whenever you can. Working together we can build a robust network of cooperatives and strengthen the cooperative impact.
