Reminder: Coop Face Mask Policy and Vaccine Mandate Requirement

VACCINE MANDATE REMINDER

The Dec. 27th New York City vaccine mandate allowed member-workers — with only one dose of a two-dose vaccine — to work shifts for up to 45 days after Dec. 27. The deadline for receiving the second dose of the two-dose regime is today, Thursday, Feb. 10, according to the City mandate.

Starting on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, all member-workers signing in for a shift must show proof of FULL vaccination. If you received a two-dose regime (most commonly Pfizer and Moderna vaccines), then your vaccine proof must display information about the second dose.

If you have not received the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna by Friday, Feb. 11, you will not be able to work a shift until you have received the second dose. Please cancel any scheduled shifts if you are not fully vaccinated with both doses AND do not schedule any future shifts until you can show proof of both doses. However, you continue to be responsible for the member work requirement and will be charged for any future cycles.

For members who received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, you are considered fully vaccinated and the mandate requires no further action from you at this time.

COOP FACE MASK POLICY REMAINS IN PLACE

On Feb. 10, NY Governor Hochul lifted the indoor face mask mandate for most public places in New York. However, this new guidance allows businesses and employers the discretion to continue to require masks upon entry.

Given the effectiveness of face masks to lessen the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and to support the Coop’s efforts to provide a safe working and shopping environment for members and staff, the Coop will continue to require face masks upon entry and while working a shift. To review our face mask policy please visit https://www.foodcoop.com/coronavirus/

We understand that some people are confusing Govenor Hochul’s actions with the New York City vaccine mandate. The New York City vaccine mandate is fully in effect and is not changed by the lifting of New York State mask mandate. All members working a shift will be required to show proof of full vaccination until further notice.

Thank you for your cooperation in following the Coop’s face mask policy and the City’s vaccine mandate. Your efforts contribute to the health and safety of all members and staff.
